As with anything, there is sometimes a problem here or there. But, take heart. Most problems with slings can easily be overcome by following these instructions. Always feel free to contact me if this section does not address your issue. I am here for you! My back/shoulder/neck hurtsIt is very important to spread the fabric over your shoulder and back. Check that the fabric is not twisted. Make sure sling is spread over the shoulder blade are on the side of the rings. Tighten the sling so that your baby is very close to you, not hanging away from your body and center of gravity. Wear your baby up high. Use good posture by standing up straight, keeping your shoulders from rolling forward. Learn to use your sling on either shoulder so that you can change sides if needed. When I tighten the sling, the rings end up very low.The sling might be too loose before you put your baby inside. Pre-tighten the sling a bit so that you don't have much adjusting to do when you have your baby in the sling. When I tighten the sling, the whole sling moves. While you are adjusting the sling, you should be holding your baby's weight with your hand/arm. The sling should be between your hand/arm and your baby. That is the anchor that prevents the sling from shifting while you tighten the tail. Baby has red marks on backs of their legs. When in the seated position, the sling should be spread under their bottom, extend under the thighs, to the knee, just like a chair. Their bottom should be slightly lower than the thighs/knees. You may need to bend their knees deeply in order to achieve the best position. Baby is not close to me, they are hanging away.Tighten the top rail by pulling on the side of the tail connected to the top portion of the pouch area. Sling is twisted through the rings and is hard to adjust.Re-thread your sling, making sure it is not folded over onto itself. Be sure that the sling is not twisted around your back. Spread it over your back area to make sure. To correct the twist without re-threading, lift up the bottom ring to loosen the tail, then pull to tighten the tail. Repeat the loosen-tighten a few times for the tail to correct itself. You can also grasp either side of the tail a pull your hands apart to correct the twist. Baby doesn't seem to like the sling.Your baby does want to be held, so use movement. Take a brisk walk - even just around the house. They will soon associate movement with the sling, and settle in. Try a different position. Many babies like to be upright unless sleeping or nursing. Others want a great view and like to face forward. Thermal Mesh or Water Mesh fabrics are stretchy and feel funny.Stretchy fabrics need to be tightened more so they settle where you want them. Pre-tighten the sling and start with the rings a little higher than normal. Pull the center of the tail to bring the whole pouch area up tighter. |
