Hip Carry

This is an appropriate position for older babies and toddlers.

1. Hold your child up high on the side opposite the rings. While holding their weight, lower them into the sling, letting their legs come out the bottom of the sling. Rest them on your hip with their legs straddling your hip.

2. While still holding their weight, tighten the sling by pulling the tail out and down.

3. Adjust the fabric so the top of the sling comes up under their armpits, or over their shoulders. Tighten the top portion by pulling on that side of the tail.

4. The bottom of the sling should extend to the knees. Their bottom should be slightly lower than their thighs.

5. There you go! Now your baby really IS "attached at the hip"! Right where they want to be. Remember, this is an appropriate position for older babies and toddlers.
